Description
I will introduce quantum computing as an emergent field stemming from quantum physics and quantum information in the frame of both theoretical and experimental physics. I will explain the transition of quantum computing from fundamental science towards a promising technology, aiming at a transformational role in the 21st century with applications that look impossible for conventional computers. I will finally offer my perspective on the outstanding opportunities for developing scientific and entrepreneurial careers in quantum computing technologies.
