Description
A sample of yttrium YFeO3 orthoferrite prepared by the auto-combustion method has been studied. From the hysteresis curve at RT, it was obtained the remanence, coercivity, saturation and antiferromagnetic susceptibility and compared with those obtained with other preparation methods. As a result, these properties have been found to be highly dependent on the method of preparation. Additionally, the relationship between remanence and saturation of single crystals and polycrystalline powder samples is differentiated and in the latter case, this relationship probably describes an asymptotic curve.
