Description
We studied the response of the Beam II Test Detector to electron and positrons beams for energies in range of 2−8 GeV. The beams were under different parameters (electromagnetic cascade opening angle, electromagnetic cascade starting module and energy absorbed by the calorimeter). Our method has allowed the differentiation of electron from positron beams, unmistakably for energies in the range 2−6 GeV, and to a lesser degree for the range of 6−8 GeV. This is a great result given that previous experiments have not gotten results that can differentiate well electron from positrons beams in those ranges of beam energy 2−8 GeV.
